Thanks for sharing this practice and your own reflections, Linart. This was great. I especially love the question: "What would excite me?" That is a great frame to make decisions through.
The Odyssey Plan is a cool exercise. I'm curious, out of the three 5-year plans, which do you think you learned the most from? It feels to me that the "current trajectory" plan probably shows you things you should not be doing, and what you should be doing lies somewhere in between the two alternate paths.
That's a really good question, Will. I like how you're reflecting about the exercise. The 3rd prompt is the one that really surprised me. I guess something interesting happens when we remove money or social status from the equation. We start to dig deeper to uncover our core principles, and mine happened to revolve around learning and community - the latter being something I didn't expect. I do recommend doing all 3 prompts, and doing them in order. The "current trajectory" one gave me signals on what I'm dissatisfied with at the moment and maybe hints to what is great about my current path as well. Tbh, I'm still reflecting on my answers, but you're right - what you truly care about lies in the intersection among the 3 life paths.
I am all for geeking out! Yeah, Windows actually has a similar shortcut - I had to do a quick search as well knowing I'd use it a lot. Let me know how the grayscale thing goes!
Love this. I like how you use your future goals to inform what’s important to you now and make some adjustments. It’s not just there to make a 5 year plan. Inspiring!
Thanks, Gareth! It's really interesting how the exercise works. I've gained so much clarity not only on what I want to be doing 5 years from now, but what I can actually do today - all by journaling for a few pages. I guess this shows just how powerful writing can be.

Appreciate you reading and reflecting on this, Jack!
Thanks for this, Linart! I admire your optimism and your ideals for the community. I plan to do the Odyssey Plan exercise in the coming days :))
Thanks, AJ! 💙 Do feel free to share if you tried out The Odyssey Plan exercise. Hoping it helps!
Makes sense! The third prompt is very powerful.

Love how grounded your five year plans are.
Also, I've never considered applying a grayscale to my laptop. That's so genius, excited to try it out today!
Ok following up: if you use a Mac, this Reddit post goes into how to program some keys to toggle grey scale. Clearly, I'm geeking out over this haha.
